Mamma’s Fish House– (North Maui) This is a must on Maui. You need to make a reservation in advance. It is a fancier place. The menu is pricey, but the food is so worth it. Everything on the menu is printed daily. The items state who caught them in the morning and where. You get a great loaf of honey bread and some mushroom soup along with coconut towels to wash off your face and some hawaiian desserts before you go with every meal. It’s also located right on ocean for great views and ambiance.
Da Kitchen–(Locations in North and South Maui) A local told us this was a favorite spot so we had to check it out. It was packed but the service was fast and the food portions were HUGE! They had dole whip floats!!!
Old Lahaina Luau– (West Maui) A trip to Hawaii wouldn’t be complete without going to a luau. This one was rated one of the best so we tried it out. It was fantastic. It is set on the beach so we got to watch the sunset right before the show started. There are lots of activities to do along with the food. The show was amazing and our waiter said it is a family owned business and everyone that runs it is related. It is also the only luau on the island that has a narration so it isn’t just back to back dancing but some explanation of what is going on. The food was fantastic. Lots of hawaiian favorites and a good variety of fish, chicken, beef, and my favorite the pork roasted in beachside imu, or hawaiian underground oven. There are lots of options to choose from and the drinks were unlimited. They greeted us with lei’s when we arrived and gave us a loaf of banana bread as a parting gift.
Beach Bums BBQ–(West Maui) This place was a great find. The portion sizes were amazing. We fed our family of 4 on the appetizer platter filled with shredded pork, ribs, sausage, chicken, and spam. So mouthwatering!
Kobe Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi Bar– (West Maui) A great place to have dinner and a show. The chef’s cook the food right in front of you on the grill while telling jokes and lighting things on fire, like the onion volcano. We had an excellent time and the food was delicious.
Ululani’s Shaved Ice– (Locations West & South Maui) The best shaved ice on the island. Seriously who knew it could taste that good. A great treat to have in the Hawaiian sun.
Keihi Caffe-(South Maui) This was a cute little breakfast place on Keihi right along the beach. The food was amazing and the portions were decent. We got banana macadamia nut french toast and a omlete served with guava jam and coconut syrup.
Komodo’s Bakery– (Uptown Maui) A famous little bakery known for their stick donuts and malasadas. You need to arrive in the morning because that’s when they are hot and they are known to sell out.
Serpico’s Pizzeria– (Uptown Maui) A small pizza place in Uptown Maui. Delicious, large, and tasty. They gave us breadsticks as an appetizer for free and the house salad was enough to feed four of us!
Aunt Sandy’s Banana Bread– (East Maui) A hut along the road to Hana by Keane Peninsula. The bread comes hot right out of the oven. It’s cash only and the loafs cost $6. I recommend buying a couple because you will want more, it is so delicious.
Fruit Stands and Roadside grills- (Literally everywhere you go) You can’t pass up trying a fresh Maui pinapple, coconut or heli heli chicken served right off the road all around the island. We tried the stands on the road to Hana at Nahiku Marketplace.
